Meet Kit finder: find a bag for your actual camera kit

Will the equipment you actually carry fit in your next camera bag? Cambags' new Kit finder, now available in Beta, helps you explore that question using camera, lens and compartment measurements rather than broad capacity labels. It considers the published catalogue and puts physical compatibility ahead of popularity.

Start by searching for your camera bodies and lenses, then select each model to add it to your kit. You can carry several bodies or more than one copy of a lens, and add listed accessories such as flashes or chargers. Bodies and detachable lenses are packed separately unless you choose to attach a lens to a camera; built-in lenses remain included. Attached-lens checks assume compatible mounts, so remember any adapters, grips or detachable hoods that are not represented in your selection.

Optional preferences are visible from the start. Choose a bag brand, a preferred carrying style or required features. Brand and feature choices narrow the results; carrying style is a preference, so compatible bags in a different style can still appear. Best fit considers confidence first, followed by your preferred style, recorded weight, suitable internal space and community popularity. Other sorting choices also keep fit confidence first.

The default shortlist shows complete Confirmed or Likely dimensional layouts. Confirmed means the arrangement uses source-checked compartment and access-opening measurements, not that somebody has physically packed your kit. Likely layouts still need measurements or access openings checked. Choose Include uncertain suggestions to investigate Potential matches and bags without a complete layout. An omitted bag is not proof that your kit cannot fit, and no result is a purchase guarantee.

Compare promising bags, expand Fit details and capacity for the reasoning, and choose Visualise my kit to open the existing visualiser with your selected equipment and arrangement. The checks do not silently stretch a bag or stack your gear. Missing an item? The visualiser's custom gear option can help you investigate it. Kit finder is still in Beta: check manufacturer specifications and real-world access before buying, and use the Cambags contact page to tell us about missing models or measurements that need attention.
