Review text: The backpack is a medium sized one, which is good for a reasonable amount of equipment, and I've been using one for around 4 years. The camera section can take 1 or 2 regular sized DSLR bodies, and about 4 or 5 lenses. I find that using a pro sized body, or one with an attached grip can be a bit too much for the size of the bag, as the bag lid doesn't have any padding at all, and so tall bodies tend to stick up, unless you lay them flat. The interior padding is very good though (i managed to knock my bag down some concrete steps with no ill effects to the camera gear inside!) The straps are comfortable over an extended period of time, whether you wear the bag fully on your back, or just sling it over one shoulder as i do mostly. I can't really fault the build of the bag, or materials used. Inside the lid there are plastic mesh zipped pockets, and on the outside of the lid there are two separate pockets, one large for spare clothing etc, and the small one which is good for spare batteries and such like. Outside the bag you have two flaps which can be unclipped (with a toggle system) and they pull around the main opening to form a weather proof seal, and they do seem to work... When the flaps are folded back in the normal day to day position you have two extra zipped pockets along the edge, which are good for smaller items. I think the Freedom 4 is a good general use backpack, there are bigger ones out there, but overall this is a good, reliable bag.
