In terms of size, the Tall-E falls between the Budgie-Smuggler and 15-Love in Crumpler's product line, being taller, thinner and less deep than the 15-Love. After a bit of finagling with the velcro dividers (and deciding I didn't need to use ALL of them), I'm convinced I've found the ideal companion for my gear while still being travel friendly. Besides the Nikon D70 and 18-70mm kit lens I can fit my Sigma 8mm fisheye (or any slightly larger other midsize lens), a Nikon 75-300 with room for an attached teleconverter, RRS 192mm rail with back to back clamps, Harbortronics 2100/IR transmitter and cable, 2 extra batteries, 2 extra CF cards and two filters. The great thing, like all the Crumpler bags of this ilk, is that everything is accessible while the bag is being worn.

In the bag

Crumpler is an Australian company that makes messenger bags. The bags look nothing like the average boring camera bag. They are kind of nice-looking! Of course, they don't sell these things where I live, so I had to order online. Lesson 1: Don't buy bags online unless I've actually had a chance to check it out in person ahead of time. The bag: Crumpler Tallee, color "rust". Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM in the hidden chamber of secrets. More space for at least another lens or 2, a flash, or image tank. Final verdict: I returned the bag. It was too big for me, and that loopy shoulder strap looked too weird. Maybe a smaller Crumpler bag (like the 15 Love) would have been a better fit. But it would have had the same shoulder strap. So, I gave up on getting a cool-looking Crumpler. Thanks to Kay Sripanidkulchai for review

What works

The bag looked hip. Great construction. Doesn't look like it could ever break.

Room for improvement

A bit too big for what I wanted (carry just 10D + 2 lenses). The color (rust) was much darker than on the Web. It's really a dark brown color...not orange at all. Shoulder strap was too wide, long, and stiff for me. I couldn't shorten it without leaving this huge amount of excess strap hanging in a loop (see picture on the left). Didn't look good. Didn't hang well from my shoulders.

This bag is nice to take out to kid's parties, picnics, or wherever i don't want to carry lots of kit (like travel when i don't plan to use the camera). i can fit the flash in the top compartment and if necessary, i can even strap on a lens bag. the nice thing about it is that it's a quick to access bag.here you can see how nice and small it is compared to the roadrunner mini aw - yet it will still carry a few lenses. thanks to oblio for pics and comments.
