The Domke F-3x is like every Domke an absolute serious bag. It has a fantastic build quality so this bag will last a whole lifetime. Ideal for the smaller equipment for documentary work. It is absolute inconspicuous and does not attract others attention to expensive photo equipment. The bag is quite deep enough to take a long lens like the Nikon 70-200 and has enough place to take some big lenses like the 14-24 too.

I find that this Domke bag is great if you just want to take a few bits of kit for a day trip, or small assignment. It takes my D2Xs plus 3 other lenses with room in on of the side pockets for a flashgun if needed. The bag has large end pockets at either end of the bag, which are fine for filters, memory cards etc, plus a large front pocket which will take a guide book when needed. The bag itself is very well constructed, using top quality heavy canvas, with a heavy duty webbing strap, which has built in rubber strips to keep the bag on your shoulder. The bag also has a removable hand strap, in the same heavy duty webbing, but i found that it gets in the way of using the bag, so took my one off. The F-3X is excellent if you just want a few bits of equipment, and it's comfortable to carry around all day.

The photos below don't have a digital body but a Nikon FE with an MD-11 motor drive attached instead. I didn't have a digital camera readily available so had to use my Nikon D100. But this is about the same size as the Nikon D100. This bag can hold a lot of gear. There's not as much padding as the Lowepro bags, which gives the bag a low profile look. The strap has two lines of rubber to offer better grip when on the shoulders. There is two canvas loops in the interiors that you can store lenses like a D70 kits lens and 12-24 inside. There is one removable padding that can be attached via velcro to the two canvas loops. There is a total of 6 compartments: -Main interior compartment -2 side pockets -front pocket -back pocket -zipper pocket on cover Although this bag can carry all the above equipment, I don't recommend it, for it will get cluttered after a few minutes/hours of swapping lenses. An ideal solution would be: -Digital Body -2 lenses (ie. D70 kit lens, 12-24) -1 Flash in side pocket -1 smaller lens in side compartment -Other misc. items in front compartment Overall a great bag for traveling light, and easy access to all equipment.

If you need a bag to carry a DSLR and 2-4 lenses + flash with room to spare for accessories and easy gear-access, this is the bag for you. The included handle has metal connectors, so more gear can be carried if the shoulder starts to ache I have provided pictures which show a DSLR, 4 lenses (inc. a big zoom), flash, radio trigger and battery charger. Even with this load, there's room enough for more accessories. The bag is very light (2 lbs) for the capacity it can carry and quite portable making it relatively inconspicuous. The side pockets are big and can accommodate full-size flashes like the Canon 580EX-II with no problem (head tilted in "L" shape). The slim compartment in the front can hold a Netbook! The main area is modular in design: It has two sewn-in compartments for lenses on the sides which can be folded away to make more space in the main compartment. The zippered compartment on the underside of the main flap can be used to hold maps or other literature. There's also an accessory flap at the back to round out this multi-compartmental bag.

Here's the Domke F-3 from the top. It's holding the Digital Rebel XT on its side with attached Canon EF 85 mm f/1.8 USM lens, the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Kit Lens and 55mm f/1.4 in two internal pockets. I haven't yet made use of the large additional internal pocket that is plenty big enough to hold a second camera body or perhaps a larger lens.
