I have adopted a Filson 232 bag with Domke inserts for my every day carry around town. I can fit my Nikon D70 , and a plethora of small gear. I can swap out the other main compartment for another lens if required, but I normally travel light in the city and just keep one lens on me. (kit lens) I like the extreme ruggedness of the bag, and the fact that it doesn’t look like a camera bag so it doesn’t draw much attention.
