The Nikon D70 needs to go into the bag sidewise - one edge up, not top up. This has not been a problem. The tightening straps on either side are critically important - use them to snug up the back against your backside once it's zipped up with the camera inside and positioned in the back. And loosen them when it comes time to get the camera out. There wasn't enough room in the bag for a Cokin filter set and a standalone CP filter - so I bought a filter wallet and mounted it on the top of the bag with velcro. This lets me take the filter wallet off when I want to. I've been pretty happy with the setup - especially after adding the filter wallet.
