Following on from my previous review, the major design flaw of the vertex 200 is that the internal space tapers toward the bottom of the bag. This taper accommodates the waist belt. This factor makes the vertex 200 ~ 1 inch shallower at the bottom compared with the top, meaning a 1D sized camera ( or most dSLRs with a grip ) sit proud of the sides when at the bottom. A big problem if a laptop is to be carried in the front pocket. However, the 300mm being a lens, curves so this loss of internal space is a none issue. Another design flaw of the vertex 200 is that the central region of the storage space is "smooth" so the velcro dividers cannot be used. So, in the configuration shown the upper divider next to the 1D body attaches to nothing at its upper edge. The vertex 200 has an internal storage device pocket. It is of no use due to the thickness of most storage devices. The rucksack harness is not adjustable for back length. Maybe LowePro can fix these design flaws for the version two, of make a "high end" digital rucksack if the vertex range is to remain mid-range.

Fantastic rucksack type camera bag for the digital photographer. Has front mounted quick access pockets with compartments for memory cards, pens, business cards etc... Very comfortable harness, even when carried full for extended periods. Biggest problem with the bag is that it tapers internally such that a pro-sized body (such as the Canon EOS 1D) is proud of the bag when inserted at the bottom. (See image) This is my only complaint. The laptop compartment is well padded and a good size. The main bag can easily be accessed with the laptop in place. Bag weight as pictured, excluding a laptop and tripod, is 11.5kg.

1D sized body cannot be at base of bag. Harness not adjustable for back length. A wider selection of dividers would be welcome.
