The two padded dividers that come with the Domke bag are on each end of the bag, providing more cushion than just the bag alone can provide. The padded divider separating the camera and flash is from a LowePro bag that I do not use. Works very well for the small D40.
This is my most minimalistic Domke for casual situations which require one DSLR body with a lens mounted to it (with hood) + a full size flash. To this regard, it doesn't get any more portable than the Domke F-5XB. This bag consists of interior padding with 2 dividers of which I use one (to separate the lens hood from the flash). I intend to use this as a walk-around bag for those times when I need just one lens. It's inconspicuous and light.

Noisy velcro closure on the front flap (I'm thinking of removing the velcro). Domke logo on the front flap: Difficult to remove as it's close-stitched.
I was looking for a small bag to take on vacations, specifically something that I could insert into my under-seat carry-on bag to reduce the amount of luggage I have to wrangle onto the plane. The Domke F-5xb is the perfect size for this and allows me to bring SLR gear I normally would have left at home in the interest of travelling light. The front pocket so far only holds a pen and some other flat items, though not my extra memory cards since I prefer to keep them in the bag. I don't really expect to hold much in there. Given the size, some might be concerned the F-5xb looks too much like a purse. Get the olive color and that might help the situation.

This is the small Domke bag that I love for 'round about town....i.e. traveling light. B&H Photo reports interior dimensions as 10.5 x 4.5 x 6.5" and exterior as 13 x 5.25 x 8.25" While, as with all Domke bags, there is some give....both bulge out and fold in...as needed (what I find as a real benefit), you can see that the exterior dimensions given appear to be off. The customer service person at Domke (Tiffen) was not able to confirm or deny. It comes with the normal (great) Domke belt, which has rubberized threads on inside to have it stay put.
