J-Series bags come complete with fitted weather flaps, a special, adjustable Padded Insert System, and larger end pockets with their own separate Padded Inserts Ideal for: 2 camera bodies with motor drives, 4-6 auto focus lenses, flash, meter film and accessories. Extra height and length handles faster longer lenses and lens hoods. Also allows cameras to be carried vertically with lens mounted. Outside the J-1, extra-generous cargo pockets with security straps, oversized and fitted weather flaps, double reinforced, abrasion-resistant rear panels and protective rubber treads.

The Domke J-1 is an absolute serious bag. No fancy at all but the features you need. Fantastic build quality. This bag will last a whole life. Takes the classic journalists setup with two bodies, three zooms from wide to tele and some small lenses and flashes. The bag is deep enough to take long lenses like the Nikon 70-200 and has enough place to take some big lenses like the 14-24 too. This one is just perfect.

I bought the Domke J1 as the bigger brother to the Domke J3 that I reviewed previously. The J3 is great as a short trip bag where I want to travel light... realistically I only need the capacity of the J3 and the J1 is more of a storage or transport bag for longer trips. The J1 pictured here is the largest of Domke's 'Journalist' line that has its own style of inserts, padded side pockets, buckles, and color scheme. The J line is only available in black ballistic which minimizes dust but does not conform as well as the classic Domkes nor does it get that cool canvas patina as it is worn in. It is, however, VERY durable and mostly waterproof. I've been out with the J3 quite often in the rain and everything inside was kept perfectly dry. I see no need for any other rain shield unless you normally shoot tropical storms.

well I just got a domke J1 to use when my stealth pack is just to much. I love it it is smaller, holds what I need, and is easy to work out of. It has made work more fun!! My stealth pack is the best when I need my laptop, 2nd body and everything that I would need. 90% of my jobs I need less and the domke has done great. In the domke I have lowepro pouches to organize and protect and I can also take them out and put them on my belt if need be.
